How do we add checkboxes and have it to persist across mulitple pages for awesomegrid

I need to add check-boxes to the grid and when user selects multiple rows across multiple pages of the grid, how can I persist the selection. Also I need to send the selected row primary keys over to the server. Any help with actual code examples will be very helpful.
